WHO WE ARE

Church at Garrett

We are a group of dedicated individuals passionate about serving the Lord.

We believe the Holy Spirit draws men and women to Christ and equips believers for personal growth and service to the church. The church’s role is to glorify God and serve those in need.  The fruit of the spirit believers are called to bear are best displayed in a body of local believers called the church. The church is to be set apart, different from the way the world works, and though we may fail at times, we strive to live lives differently, helping one another along the way. 


OUR BELIEFS

We are united through Christ

We believe in The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.

We hold to the orthodox truths found in the Holy Scriptures, confirmed and laid out in both the Nicene Creed and the Apostle's Creed.

We believe in thorough study of the Bible in order to understand better and draw closer to our wonderful Savior Jesus.  We hold firm to the inerrency of the Holy Scriptures and believe that through those Scriptures, God has given us the ability to know Him and how we then ought to live.

We worship hard and pray harder

We believe that Jesus is central to everything. We believe that prayer is a direct line to God, and that we should speak to Him every chance we get. Worship is our chance to praise God and we take joy in doing so.

We believe in the power of fellowship

We are called to join in fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. We believe that reaching out to the lost and engaging with them will strengthen our bond with each other through God.

We are a church without walls

Jesus called us to go out and spread the word of God. We believe that this is not done enough. We make it a priority to go outside of the church walls to reach the lost and broken. We hope that you will join us in doing so.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?

Come as you are. 

We want you to come just as you are. When you walk through our doors you may see people in suits and ties, but you will also see people in jeans and t-shirts. We want to make sure when you visit you feel welcomed and loved. We want to foster an environment where believers are free to worship our Lord in truth and in spirit.  This world can be a rough place, and the Church at Garrett strives to be a refuge and a recharging station to enable us to face this life together.  If you ever need anything, always feel free to connect with us. We love to hear from our new visitors.

Get to know the Church at Garrett team

Pastor Tom & Laurie Wilcoxson

Pastor Tom & Laurie have been married for over 30 years. Having worked as an engineer for many years, Tom was ordained by his Pastor, to shepherd the flock of God which quickly grew in numbers and relationship from what began as a small Bible study and fellowship in their home. They have been pastoring the Church at Garrett since its founding in 2001.

Tim & Lori Brandon

Tim is our Worship Ministry Director and helps in many other areas of ministry. Lori is our Children's Ministry Director.  She oversees the curriculum and volunteers. She also hosts a women's home fellowship group.

Ed & Wanda Reyes

Ed leads the ushers and helps lead a home fellowship group. Wanda assists in directing the Children's Ministry and is involved in the worship ministry.

Matt & Christan Cordes

Matt helps with the sound and livestream ministry and teaches our What We Believe series. Christan serves in the worship ministry and helps with many of the administrative tasks for the church.
